I wasn’t born with two left feet but when it came to Salsa, it certainly made me feel like I had two right ones. Enter Naomi. I knew Naomi had taught a variety of dance styles at a well known dance school here in Austin so I asked her to teach me to dance Salsa. As instructors go, I do believe that she has developed a very ingenious way to help the student with etching the moves into their repertoire and it starts right with the warm up. Her warm ups do a wonderful job of getting your head space from wherever it was prior to class, to where it needs to be to absorb new material. She then proceeds to work with reviewing old material, introducing new ones without music, then with music and then slightly faster till you forget that you just learned something new, and start having fun dancing. Naomi does a wonderful job of gauging the propensity of the student to absorb new material and challenges one accordingly with the appropriate level of complexity. I wouldn’t call myself an expert now, but thanks to Naomi, my big toes are closer to each other.

Naomi is an extremely gifted instructor. She has an amazing talent for making the complex simple and fun to learn. I had some trepidation about trying to learn to dance, but Naomi is so patient, gracious, and kind in her approach you can’t help but enjoy yourself. Naomi makes learning Salsa a lot of fun. Her knowledge of dance steps as well as her patient teaching style has made a Salsa “newbie” like me feel very comfortable with learning this wonderful style of dance. Before I started my classes with her, Naomi took the time to meet with me to determine what my goals were, and to assess my dancing skill level. It’s great to learn from someone who is willing to get to know more about you as a potential student. Learning step after step has been so much fun thanks to Naomi’s knowledge and patience. Naomi is an attentive, cheerful, and encouraging teacher of dance and body consciousness. My wife and I have always danced well together but I struggled with my ability to lead others. I sought out Naomi’s help specifically to be able to dance with new partners. She has had a deep knowledge of every dance I have asked her about. Naomi’s instruction has been amazing and she has adapted easily with any request I have made. I am now able to dance with any woman out on the floor. Along with her technical instruction she has given me an amazing perspective on the Argentine Tango. I eagerly anticipate every lesson.
